Since the launch of the fourth campaign, new Dungeon Master Brennan Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with rich lore, a wide array of characters, and a thrilling plot showcasing angels, fiends, and malevolent powers expanding in power within the urban setting.
Note: Spoilers for the third episode of Campaign 4 follow below.
The Soldiers Table Introduced
The latest chapter finished on a huge suspense moment and introduced the premier party of adventurers who will separate from the primary party to undertake their separate journey, apart from the additional parties.
This warrior group consists of Teor Pridesire (brought to life by Travis Willingham), Thimble (the talented performer), the fierce warrior (the cast member), the cleric (the player), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie Daymond).
Dividing the Cast
Given 13 cast members, it was evident from the beginning that maintaining everyone at a single group would be unworkable.
That’s why, the first four episodes of Campaign 4 serve as an Overture, intertwining the personal journeys before splitting into three separate parties: Soldiers, Schemers, and Seekers.
What Defines the Combat Party
Per Brennan Lee Mulligan, the Soldiers table is for adventurers who enjoy a typically action-packed battle-oriented narrative style where peaceful solutions are rare.
Initially, figures such as the reluctant priest the cleric might seem out of place, but the events of episode 3 demonstrate why these five characters are ideally matched for the Soldiers table.
Why They Must Go
For one thing, the group has a clear idea where to go next after a brutal opening clash with The Crow Keepers.
Casimir of the deceased character—whose passing initiated the campaign’s events—used The Crow Keepers for his personal gain, breaking into Thjazi’s hideout, assaulting the character, and stealing all the magical artifacts to sell off.
The traitor then settled his debts and ran away to a fortified location in Gormalay, Timmony, beyond the city, with Cyd close behind.
Individual Reasons
Secondly, each member has a individual motive to depart the urban setting:
- Thimble, as Thjazi’s partner and best friend, wants vengeance.
- The knowledgeable figure knows Timmony and advises that it is a hostile location.
- Tyranny and Wicander, having disobeyed his relatives’ demands to execute the fighter and instead freed him, have no other options.
- Yet, their status as important members in House Halovar could help the group enter areas they normally couldn’t.
- Additionally, Teor vowed a unbreakable promise to The savior for his deliverance and will now go with him wherever.
Pursued by Authorities
Lastly, all of them are sought by the rulers that control Dol-Makjar for a variety of reasons, making lingering locally no longer safe:
- The rogue and The hero are known criminals.
- The warrior and The healer defied the powerful family and the horde of evil beings they are partnered with.
- Teor is targeted for elimination by the family.
This results in them no alternative but to travel to the remote area in quest for the traitor.
What’s Next?
Based on the latest episode’s post-show segment, we find out that the warrior group won’t be around the following episode, leaving the remaining eight cast members to round up the Explorers and Schemers groups.
Viewers can anticipate finding out which players will be in which group in the season’s final introductory chapter, released on October 24.
